Walt Disney World Tickets & Events

Explore the different ticket options and uncover the special events happening throughout the year.

WDW Ticket Options

Here are the four main ticket options to consider if you're planning a visit to Walt Disney World Theme Parks:

1. 1 Park Per Day: Access one theme park each day of your ticket.

2. Water Park and Sports Option: Enjoy one theme park each day, along with a set number of visits to a water park or other attractions at Walt Disney World.  For example, if you have a 4-day ticket, then you get 4 visits to any of the following: either Disney's Typhoon Lagoon or Disney's Blizzard Beach, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course, FootGolf at Disney's Oak Trail, Disney's Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course (one round prior to 4 PM), Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course (one round prior to 4 PM).

3. Park Hopper Option: Experience multiple theme parks each day of your ticket.  You can visit all of the theme parks in one day if you wish!

4. Park Hopper Plus Option: Visit several theme parks daily, plus enjoy a limited number of visits to a water park or other fun activities at Walt Disney World.  For example, if you have a 5-day ticket, then you get 5 visits to any of the following: either Disney's Typhoon Lagoon or Disney's Blizzard Beach, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course, FootGolf at Disney's Oak Trail, Disney's Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course (one round prior to 4 PM), Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course (one round prior to 4 PM).

WDW Ticket Costs

Ticket costs are not fixed, but based on the time of the year, how many date tickets you plan to purchase, as well as the age of the ticketholder.

AGE: To be clear, Adult Tickets is for any guest ages 10+.  Guests ages 3-9 have a slightly lower cost, and guests under age 3 are free!

TIME OF YEAR:  If you plan to go to Disney World during a very popular time of year (ex. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's), expect to pay more for your tickets.  There are some times of the year where you can find the lowest prices of the year (some days in January, February, August, September.  You are able to compare prices right on the Walt Disney World website.

NUMBER OF DAYS:  You pay less per day as the number of days increases, especially after 4 days.

If you want to check out the exact ticket costs for standard visits, park hopper tickets, special event tickets, or discounts, go directly to the Walt Disney World website.

BONUS TIP: There are several websites that will give you extra savings on your Walt Disney World tickets, but please be sure to read reviews on them.  I have personally used Unlocked Magic multiple times, and I have found that they have the lowest prices and they are a reputable third party!  Unlocked Magic has discounts on special events tickets and already marked down WDW tickets!

WDW Special Events

There are special events at Walt Disney World throughout the year that require a separate ticket to regular date-based tickets.  These events include: After Hours, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, and Jollywood Nights.

Disney After Hours

In the past, Disney After Hours Events happen at all of the theme parks.  However, in 2026, Animal Kingdom is taking a pause probably due to the lack of attractions with the extinction of DinoLand.  I'm confident that when Tropical Americas debuts in 2027, After Hours in Animal Kingdom will return.  After Hours happens between January and September on select nights.

After Hours typically happen from 9:30 PM-12:30 AM in Hollywood Studios and from 10:00 PM-1:00 AM in EPCOT and Magic Kingdom after the park officially closes.  During these events, guests can have exclusive access to low crowds, low wait times for popular attractions, and snacks  such as premium Mickey ice cream bars and popcorn.  I recommend this kind of event to young adults or families with teens or preteens who are naturally inclined to stay up later.  If you have a mix of children's ages, then this could be a great opportunity to spend one-on-one time with your older child.

2026 Prices: $175-$199 per ticket (plus tax) for Magic Kingdom After Hours; $155-$179 per ticket (plus tax) for EPCOT After Hours; $155-$189 per ticket (plus tax) for Hollywood Studios After Hours.  Annual Passholders and eligible Disney Vacation Club members

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP)

The Halloween party at Magic Kingdom is held on select nights starting mid-August and ending on Halloween night.  The official hours of the party is 7PM-12AM but guests can enter the park as early as 4PM.  This event allows guests of all ages to dress up in Halloween costumes, meet their favorite characters, eat party-exclusive treats, ride attractions with lower waits, and of course, trick-or-treat!  MNSSHP is also known for having exclusive entertainment: Halloween parade, stage show, and fireworks as well as dance parties and entertainers throughout the park.  Party information is usually announced about 6 months before Halloween.  Check back here soon for 2026 MNSSHP information!

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP)

Every November and December, Magic Kingdom closes early on select nights for the Christmas Party.
